Our students of Semester-4, Interior Design Discipline, organized an exhibition on 18th and 19th April 2017 where they put uniquely designed Metal Chairs on display to showcase their creative talent. These furniture were built during their study of “Interior Technology” subject.
In this module, along with the study of wood, ceramics, glass, paints, etc., the students also studied different types of metals, their uses & properties. Various types of techniques that are applicable to different types of metals were discussed too.
Finally, as a part of their study of Metals, they designed a chair using a maximum of 3 joineries, i.e., welding, nut & bolt, riveting, Allen key, etc. They also made 1:2 scale technical drawings on gateway sheets & got a prototype made of Mild Steel with powder coating finish.
