The students of Lifestyle Accessory Design & Product Design accompanied by faculties from different departments visited Paris Design Week and Maison & Objet, a trade fair dedicated to home, lifestyle, products, decoration, and design!
During the visit, the students used to attend the M&O fair during the daytime and after it closed at 5 PM, they usually went on to explore the city through Paris Design Week where they were given a hop-on and hop-off tour of Paris by bus so that they get accustomed to the cultural diversities and can observe the rich architectural heritage sites of the city.
Plenty of retailers, galleries, showrooms, hotels, and restaurants exhibited their products in the adjacent areas of major landmarks of the city such as Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, and Notre Dame Cathedral etc. for Paris Design Week.
The continuous insightful inputs from the faculty members didn’t only help the students to understand the design concepts of particular sites but also gave them a holistic idea about the business aspect of big trade fairs.
As a part of the visit, the students were also required to present their takeaways and learnings once they come back. The exhibition “Le Exposition” was held for two days – 27th & 28th September at UID. The exhibition was divided into 4 segments – Art & Architecture Appreciation, Paris Design Week, Christian Dior Exhibit and Maison & Objet!
